Title
Butler Press t-shirt
Subject
Civic
Description
This T-shirt was given to the students of the newspaper club at Morgan Butler Middle School, who worked to publish the Morgan Butler Press (just one of the paper’s names).
The newspaper was an effort to create a student newspaper via the new world of digital publishing. Students wrote articles and drew cartoons which were then scanned into the digital paper. The resulting paper was printed on the school copy machine and distributed monthly.
Students who worked on the newspaper were sometimes overshadowed by their peers in sports and other activities. These T-shirts helped the academic-oriented young adults forge their own identity as members of the school newspaper club.
