City of Waukesha Map
Description
Produced by the Milwaukee Light, Heat, and Traction Company (MLH&T Co.) this map traces the light rail route through the city. Indicated with a continuous black line on the map, the route, as shown, enters from the east along Lincoln Avenue. At the intersection with Hartwell, the route bears south to Broadway, following through the Five Points downtown, and across the river. At the base of the Madison St. hill the line then continues up Delafield and then onto Summit Avenue as it continues northwest.
Planning maps like this one helped the light rail owners understand their service corridor in the city. Above the legend box there is a faint indication of shading for proposed paving projects. Any change by the city repairing or improving roadways could affect, or interrupt their service line. By maintaining their own set of planning maps the light rail tracked not only their own construction but impacts from city projects as well.
