Description
These original drawings by Armand Hans Delzer are frequently seen on office walls throughout the city. The man behind the drawings, Hans Delzer, co-founded the city’s first lithographic printing business, Delzer-Marlow, in 1949 after a conversation on the Merrill Hills golf course.
The business grew rapidly, expanding twice in their original location, before breaking ground on a 40,000 square foot facility on S. West Avenue. Delzer bought out his partner Warren Marlow in 1961. The company today is led in part by the third generation of the Delzer family.
As a regional print shop, Delzer has leveraged its size to secure key contracts and adapt to changing technologies. The company worked for many years with the Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks for team related materials. Delzer also printed cards Trivial Pursuit, and the scientific paper The 1980 Eruption of Mount St. Helens, Washington.
The company still resides in the S. West Avenue facility and is the longtime printer for the Waukesha County Historical Society’s Landmark publication.
